Fencing here
Canyon Lake is an unincorporated area of Comal County around the reservoir northwest of New Braunfels. Lots are often hilly, wooded and rocky, and many homes sit on larger tracts with long driveways.
The ground
This is Hill Country ground: thin soil over limestone. Post holes often have to be drilled into rock, which takes the right equipment and affects the price. On slopes, panels are stepped or racked to follow the grade.
Rules to check
There's no city government in the Canyon Lake area, so your subdivision's deed restrictions or property owners' association rules usually matter most. Check your plat for easements. Near the lake, confirm exactly where your property line is before fencing. Land right around the lake is federal property managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, which built and runs the reservoir.
Popular projects
Deer fencing around gardens and landscaping, ranch-style and field fence on acreage, automatic gates on long driveways (solar openers avoid running power to the gate), and repairs after storms and falling limbs.

Common questions
Can fence posts be set in solid rock?
Yes. Contractors drill or core holes into the limestone and set posts in concrete. It takes more time and equipment than digging soil, so expect it to show up in the price.
